Economic Development
Henrietta Growth Corporation –We mean Business
The city’s economic development activities are coordinated by Henrietta Growth Corporation (HGC) located in the city offices at 101 North Main. HGC was established in 1993 after citizens approved a half cent sales tax to be used for economic development.
Since its inception, HCG has provided much needed funds to assist local businesses. Most recently, HGC provided funds for Henrietta’s new self-service laundry.
HGC is governed by a seven person board, appointed by the City Council. Board members include Rod Waldrop (President), Scot Clayton (Vice President), Mark Mathews, Doyle Davis, Howard Raeke, Lorie Riggins and Judy Firestone. In November 2007 HGC hired Sammie Hatfield to serve as full-time Economic Development Director for the city.
Ms. Hatfield and members of the board are currently searching for entrepreneurs interested in opening or expanding businesses in Henrietta. Most of the group’s efforts are concentrated on recruiting developers for a restaurant and an assisted living center.
Anyone interested in starting a business or expanding operations in Henrietta should contact Sammie Hatfield at 940-538-6768 or e-mail shatfield@cohtx.com.
